Another classic hit and an iconic video, as simple an effect as it is, but very effective! Amii Stewart released her cover of 'Knock on Wood' in 1979 as disco was nearly at its end, but it was a massive hit and won the singer a Grammy nomination. Her follow ups were less successful even though they followed a similar style. 'Light my fire' and 'The Letter' were disco-fied confections; with 12 inch mixes along with extended album durations. Amii's pair of disco albums in 1978 and 1979 gave her a place in pop culture but most people remember her for this clip with that bizarre outfit and headgear. I've used the 1985 remix audio wise and re-edited the original clip to create this post. Nearly 40 years on, I still love Amii's powerful tones and the disco/funk sounds on classics like these!
