Description
One of the loveliest sights I've ever seen: our beautiful Brolgas dancing at dawn. We camped out overnight in a bird hide to capture this, with the camera on full zoom. Brolgas are extremely shy and wary birds and it is only possible to film like this if they don't realise you are there. While Brolgas might be common in northern Australia, Southern Brolgas are now listed as endangered in Victoria. Brolgas mate for life and there are only around 200 breeding pairs left in southwest Victoria. How lucky we are to have them here and to be able to manage and protect their habitat on the farm.
