FireEX, the Golden Melody Award Winner Taiwanese Pop Punk Rock band, performs their hit "Island Sunrise" at ELSEWHERE in Brooklyn, NYC on March 10, 2024.

FireEX has embarked on a 2024 North American Tour which next has them performing ay South by Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, Tx. on March 16, 2024.

FireEX is one of Taiwan's most popular rock bands, have won many Golden Melody Awards (the equivalent of the Grammys in Chinese speaking language) and is widely known for their social activism supporting Taiwan independence.,

Island Sunrise became the anthem for the Sunflower Movement, and won the 2015 Golden Melody Award for Best Song. The band fashions their sound after bands like Nirvana, Blink 182, Limp Bizkit, and Sum 41.

This is the 19th installment of my "Great Performances" series, where I upload my own personal LIVE footage from past concerts of great musical artists we've covered either through written articles and/or direct interviews.
