“JINGLE BELLS” was written in 1857 by James Pierpont for a Thanksgiving program at his church in Boston. Its original title was “ONE HORSE OPEN SLEIGH”. It was so well received by the congregation that the children were asked to sing it again for Christmas and a ‘Carol’ was born.
The song’s first release was by The Edison Male Quartette in 1898. The song has been covered by just about every major artist in the music industry!
