Description
If you already know this etude, it's very likely you know it because of Vladimir Horowitz, who popularized this piece with his personal and exceptional interpretation.
This is the original version, so if you're used to Horowitz's play, you'll notice a few differences, mostly in the ending (I admit I'm way too used to his version, and it's hard not to express a preference for his way to end the piece, that probably sounds better).
It's an etude that on paper isn't much difficult but, in my opinion, it raises his difficulty exponentially when you try to increase the speed above a certain threshold (I honestly thought it was going to be way easier at first).
Nonetheless, a very fun piece that's very satisfying to play and which made me look at chromatique scales in a different way (a lot of 1-2-3 fingering that works very well for this piece and which I rarely encountered before).
