Description
OLIVER recorded this Joni Mitchell song on his debut solo album, Good Morning Starshine in 1969 on Crewe Records. His decidedly strong tenor voice and perfect pitch brought a new dimension to this folk song. He many times referred to his appreciation for Joni's music and this song of hers on his album made the statement for him. The excessive orchestration, a Bob Crewe mark, made this song and it's arrangement difficult to perform live without a significant accompaniment. It was rarely, if ever, heard by smaller venue audiences.
This video is released as part of the celebration of life for William Oliver Swofford (2/22/1945 - 2/12/2000); It's being provided as a small gesture of my humble respect and love for this magnificent man taken from us too soon, yet he left these bits of evidence of his short but accomplished, admirable and humbled life. #BeLikeBill
