Open Road is Lucia Comnes & John Palmer - a dynamic singer-songwriter duo that serves up original songs and reimagined acoustic covers as authentic Americana, from ragtime to rockabilly with a dash of R&B. Characterized by close male-female vocal harmonies, melodic guitar, and soulful and dynamic fiddle and viola accompaniment, their first album ‘Skylark’ topped acoustic and folk radio charts in the US this spring, debuting at #3 on the Folk Alliance national radio chart for May. They engage audiences at home in the US and abroad, touring regularly in Ireland, Scotland, England and Italy. Lucia and John are storytellers who share a passion for songwriting, and enjoy interpreting songs by favorite writers including Rodney Crowell, Larry Campbell, Emmylou Harris, Townes Van Zandt, and Tom Petty. They will be recording their second full length album with producer Dan Knobler (Rodney Crowell, Allison Russell, Lake Street Dive) in Nashville this July. Lucia has also played with Joan Baez, Jefferson Hamer, Paul Brady, and KITKA.
